These condom promotion and sexually transmitted infection campaigns would not be possible without the support of our donors, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Public Health Foundation of India.

The Trust in India
October 2009 marked the tenth anniversary of the Trust internationally and in India. Across the past decade in India, the Trust’s work has demonstrated a lasting impact. We pride ourselves on the creative and innovative solutions we apply to development challenges. Working in partnership, we have built a body of work that has helped provide access of life-saving information and promote human rights.
Across themes that encompass health, gender equality, disaster risk reduction, the environment, we have used a range of media formats to provide useful, timely and reliable information through songs, drama, reality, mobile ringtones, advertisements, training and debate.
We have benefited from the support of Bollywood stars, government, media outlets and civil society. We also ensure that the work is rooted in evidence, as our researchers’ analysis informs all stages, from project inception to final impact evaluation.
India is among the Trust’s oldest and biggest country offices of the 14 offices the Trust has globally. It has shown what media can really do for development in the most innovative ways. Entering into our next decade, we are already implementing new projects on bonded labour, tuberculosis prevention and encouraging treatment seeking behaviour.
